2006-07 Sustainable Forest Management Report Now Available
By Hans Drielsma, Executive General Manager
The seventh annual Sustainable Forest Management Report from Forestry Tasmania is now available. Copies are available on request from Forestry Tasmania, or an electronic version is available for downloading. Click here to download (10 MB)
The report is designed to highlight those areas in which Forestry Tasmania has been successful in improving forest management performance, while acknowledging those areas where more focus and improvement is required.
The Report has a new look and feel for 2006-07, and the comments and suggestions that were received from stakeholders following the circulation of last year’s report have largely driven the content and context of this report.

Some of Forestry Tasmania’s performance highlights outlined in this report include the fact that FT was re-certified against the Australian Forestry Standard as result of good performance no non-conformance. Further, of the 9,445 hectares of native forest regenerated, 98% met the prescribed standard. FT has also invested in and benefited from an increased understanding of carbon sequestration on State forest. These are just some of the highlights of the 2006-07 Report.
I hope that you will find the report useful and informative. We welcome your feedback, which will assist us in continuously improving future reports. You can complete the feedback form provided at the end of the document, or your comments can be sent to
