FT Welcomes Minister Llewellyn
By David Tuck, Communications Manager
Forestry Tasmania recently welcomed the Honourable David Llewellyn, Minister for Primary Industries, Water and Energy, and the new Minister for Resources with morning tea on May 13.
This is Minister Llewellyn’s third time as Minister with responsibility for forests. From 1989 to 1992 he served as Minister for Forests, and was Minister for Primary Industries, Water and Environment from 1998 to 2002. We are delighted to have someone with his experience, in-depth knowledge and interest in the forest sector.

Minister Llewellyn spoke to staff and remarked at the enormous changes that have taken place in forestry over the last 20 years.
“There have been so many exciting developments in forestry in recent years, particularly in terms of the technology that has come along and how it’s being applied to responsible forest management,” said the Minister. “I am certain this will continue and that Tasmania will be on the forefront of this evolution.”
“This is a very interesting portfolio and I’m excited about the opportunity to again work with Forestry Tasmania,” he added.
Minister Llewellyn was born in St Mary's in Tasmania's north east and represents the electorate of Lyons.
