A TOTAL of 115 students from 50 high schools and 65 primary schools throughout Tasmania have been presented with Forestry Tasmania Care For People Awards.
The Care for People awards were introduced as an extension to Forestry Tasmania’s Community Assist program in recognition of the fact that many students are doing great things for others, but are unlikely to qualify for Community Assist.
Care for People is one of Forestry Tasmania’s five key values and for the award schools were asked to nominate a student who demonstrated compassion or thoughtfulness towards others.
Participating schools receive a perpetual shield on which the name of the winning student for each year is engraved.
Each of the winning students was presented with backpack, cap drink bottle and family pass to Tahune AirWalk or Tarkine Forest Adventures at the end of year assemblies.
