Forestry Tasmania’s tourism attraction in the far north west, Tarkine Forest Adventures at Dismal Swamp is set to resume full time operations next month under new management.
We are now close to finalising a lease agreement with a Queensland couple, who intend to move to the north west later this month with their young family.
The site has been operating on a bookings only system since May as we continued to search for a suitable partner to take over the day to day operations.
Tarkine Forest Adventures, or Dismal Swamp as it is affectionately known, will continue to operate under the Adventure Forest brand.
From our perspective, this is the best possible model. The site is perfectly suited to being a family business, harnessing all the enthusiasm, commitment to service and innovation that comes with family operated businesses. Under this model, the family business is able to take advantage of the marketing muscle and expertise of a proven brand like Forestry Tasmania’s Adventure Forests.
The new lessees are excited by the opportunity and are looking forward to introducing themselves to the tourism industry on the north west coast.
More details will be available when arrangements are finalised.
