Forest Practices Plans available online soon

by John Hickey, Manager, Planning

Copies of Forest Practices Plans (FPPs) for coupes on state forest will soon available to the public via the Forestry Tasmania website.

Plans will be available for purchase for $20 each from the FPP online shop.

FPPs purchased online are provided as unique download links sent to a customer’s registered online shop email account once payment has been verified.

FPPs are part of the forest practices system administered by the Forest Practices Authority (FPA), which regulates forestry in Tasmania both on public and private land. They ensure forest practices provide reasonable protection for the natural and cultural values of forests.

FPPs are prepared by Forest Practices Officers and other specialist staff employed by Forestry Tasmania. The plans cover all harvesting and forest establishment operations in Tasmania and associated activities such as quarries and road construction.

Sensitive confidential or commercial-in-confidence information is removed from FPPs made available to the public.

The FPP online shop will be accessed through the Online Shops section on our home page.

Maps of specified areas can be previewed when making purchases through the Three Year Wood Production Plans coupe list section. Or you can select FPPs for purchase by clicking the appropriate forestry district, which can be accessed via the `click to buy the FPPs’ button

FPPs not available on the web may be viewed and purchased at district offices.
