Ken Jeffreys, Manager, Corporate Relations and Tourism
As the peak tourism season draws to an end, the Maydena Adventure Hub will draw on the experience of its encouraging first tourism season and use the winter period to fine tune operations at the hub.
The winter period will see an exciting phase for the hub as further refinements are made, new partnerships entered into and better tourism infrastructure implemented.
The Hub will be positioned strongly in the Tasmanian conference and convention market, working closely with the Tasmanian Convention Bureau. Renowned Tasmanian caterer Waji Spiby has come on board to treat clients to the best Tasmanian produce at the award winning Eagles Eyrie building which will be available for functions and events up to 100 people. The partnership will see clients treated to an exclusive and unforgettable experience showcasing Tasmania’s finest in location, dining and service.
To further cement Maydena as a unique and unbeatable venue for functions, Forestry Tasmania and Lindsay White from Redbanks have teamed up to bring a range of exciting Olympic style sports to Maydena. The Maydena Adventure Park can cater for groups large and small and offers a range of fun, team building sports including clay target shooting, archery, sling shot and target. Perfect for corporate team bonding days, client relationship building days or even bucks trips, the Park offers a unique experience in the stunning surrounds of state forest.
The winter will also see Forestry Tasmania working closely with a top Tasmanian interpretation specialist Phil Fitzpatrick, to further add to the Maydena experience. Mr Fitzpatrick will help the Maydena Adventure Hub, its partners and the Maydena community develop a compelling narrative that helps portray the fascinating heritage and stories from the region.
Over the next few months the Hub managers will work closely with DIER to improve signage between Hobart and Maydena. A plan to implement better road signage on route to the Hub is in progress and signage to assist in directing the public to Maydena will be implemented in time for the next tourism season.
The hub also intends on using the winter period to attract more partners to the hub, to add further to the great tours and activities that are on offer.
In the mean time, the Maydena Adventure Hub’s tours will remain operating throughout winter to showcase the beauty of the region during one of the most beautiful seasons. With breathtaking snow dusted mountain tops surrounding the area, winter is one of the best times of years to experience Maydena and you can book your Maydena experience anytime by visiting www.adventureforests.com.au site or calling the Adventure Forests booking centre on 1300 720 507.
