Forest Officer (Harvesting & Sales)
Murchison District

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare Forest Practices Plans and monitor compliance.
• Conduct audits to ensure the performance of segregation, utilisation and distribution of forest product is in accordance to procedure.
• Oversee harvesting operations and liaise with contractors and external company representatives.
• Conduct pre logging, progressive logging and post logging assessments.

Applicants must have:

• Certificate IV in Forest Growing and Management (or equivalent).
• Current manual drivers licence.
• Demonstrated ability to organise workload to meet timeframes.
• Experience in forest practices and harvesting techniques.

GIS Operator (Bass District)

Do you possess skills or have an interest in mapping, drawing or graphics?
Are you computer literate especially in graphics, CAD, databases and spreadsheets?
Do you have an eye for detail and thoroughness?
Do you have Education: secondary school – minimum, Grade 11 (or equivalent)?

The role of the position will be to:

• Update GIS map layers and databases.
• Maintain and produce maps and reports.
• Process aerial photography and provide technical support to district staff.

This position will be based at Scottsdale.

Forestry Tasmania will provide training and development for this position.
