Island Specialty Timbers now online
DATE 30/11/2007
Island Specialty Timbers’ first-ever online log tender has made selecting fine timbers as easy as a mouse click.
Assistant General Manager (Operations and Special Timbers) Steve Whiteley said that the Island Specialty Timbers website now allows customers to view and bid for individual logs from the comfort of their home or office.
“Until now, craftspeople wishing to submit tenders for special species logs had to travel to Geeveston to inspect them at the Island Specialty Timbers yard.
“This new approach to marketing, which features images and dimensions of each log, will allow customers from anywhere in the world to access Tasmania’s special species timbers.”
Island Specialty Timbers selects fine timbers such as myrtle, blackheart sassafras and Huon pine especially for use by craftspeople, furniture designers, builders and architects.
Offers for the current tender sale of 45 logs close at 4.30 pm, Friday 30 November 2007.
