Tassie’s caring youth acknowledged

At school presentations across the State at the end of 2007, many young Tasmanians’ who had demonstrated compassion or thoughtfulness towards others were acknowledged with the “Forestry Tasmania Care for People Prize.”

Over one hundred Schools presented a complimentary family pass to either Dismal Swamp of the Tahune Airwalk to deserving young Tasmanians.

In 2007, Forestry Tasmania launched a new sponsorship program in conjunction with Southern Cross Television to support the Tasmanian community. The program was developed to support companies and individuals that share Forestry Tasmania’s core values and make a difference in their communities. Care for People is one of these six key values.

It was recognised that many young Tasmanian’s who share these values and make a difference in their school communities should also be acknowledged.

The 2007 Forestry Tasmania Care for People Prize was awarded to the following students and many more:
