The next Tender of special timbers logs, figured stumps and timber will commence on Monday 12 April 2010 and will conclude at 5.00 pm on Tuesday 27 April 2010. Material will be available for inspection at ISTT Geeveston during their business hours, Mon - Fri 8.00 am - 4.3o pm and Sat 9.00 am - 12.00 pm. ISTT Geeveston will be availalable to mill any special timbers logs purchased in the April 2010 tender, (at rates shown in the Services section), and pack all resulting timber for delivery anywhere in Australia.

Island Specialty Timbers Tasmania receive or select logs, burls and stumps of special timbers from Tasmania's working forests to sell or process into slabs or timber for furniture or craft designer / makers, woodturners, builders and luthiers.
Our specialty is to make available highly figured or coloured timber such as fiddle-back, birds-eye, flame and burl feature or the spectacular colours in black-heart sassafras, tiger myrtle or purple-heart leatherwood.
We stock Blackwood, Celery-top Pine, Myrtle, Black-heart Sassafras, figured Eucalypts, Huon Pine and occaisionally musk, Leatherwood and King William Pine.
We sell green burls, craftwood, utility logs, sawlogs, building poles, posts for fencing plus green timber, air and kiln seasoned timber and slabs, (rough sawn and dressed), green and dry turning blanks and decking timber.
Special orders for your craft, furniture or building project are welcome, eg slabs to 900 mm wide, beams, squares or posts to 13 metres long, boards and thin timber to 5 mm and slabs or beams to 500 mm thick - our quotes are free!
The special timbers processed by Island Special Timbers Tasmania are harvested from forests whose managment by Forestry Tasmania has been certified under national and international standards, such as the Australian Forestry Standard and the International Standards for Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001).
Island Specialty Timbers Tasmania at Geeveston is a licensed Chain of Custody member, to guarantee customers that all its raw material and products are Tasmanian fine timbers sourced from forests whose management is certified to the Australian Forestry Standard. The Chain of Custody system is managed by Fine Timber Tasmania Inc., maintained by a coordinator and is annually assessed by independent auditors.
Huon Pine material is sourced from sites previously harvested for sawlogs and from stockpiles salvaged prior to dam construction, many years ago. Eighty five (85) per cent of Huon Pine forests are permanently reserved for conservation within National Parks and Reserves.
