Leigh Clark retires from ISTT Strahan & a New ISTT Office Location in Strahan - after a busy and varied working life with Forestry Tasmania since 1972 and since 1983 at Strahan Leigh (a legend in his own time) is now enjoying a busy retirement in his favourite town.  Thousands of people have bought Huon pine from Leigh during these years through his roles for Forestry Tasmanian and ISTT and we are fortunate that he has agreed to work intermittently for ISTT at Strahan and at the mainland Timber & Working with Wood shows.  One of his last jobs was to move the FT office from a prime waterfront location in the centre of town to the main Forestry Tasmanian yard at 5 Frazer Street.  However life is often about change and a new full-time Manager, Craig Denney, has commenced work at Frazer Strahan for Forestry Tasmania and ISTT.   So the new ISTT sales contact at Strahan for Huon or King Billy pine is now Craig Denney and his contact options are: tel 03 6472 6004, or mobile 0459 115 843 and email  craig.denney@forestrytas.com.au

Canberra Timber & Working with Wood Show, 2, 3 & 4 September, 10 am - 5 pm at Budawang Building, Exhibition Park.  A crate of selected pieces of kiln seasoned Tasmanian special timbers have arrived in Canberra for display and sale from the ISTT stand at site 63, near the visitor lounge.  These timbers are certified as Chain of Custody material by the Fine Timber Tasmania Inc. scheme, to assure buyers that ISTT timber is legally sourced, environmentally responsible and from Tasmanian forests whose management is certified by the AFS and ISO 14001.  There is an excellent range of seasoned and dressed timber - boards, squares, slabs, premium box making material and bowl blanks representing black-heart & spalted sassafras, blackwood as plain & fiddle-back, myrtle, Huon pine and King Billy pine.  We have also brought bundles of the rare tiger myrtle veneer to display and sell.   If we do not have what you want at the Canberra wood show Chris Emmett will be happy to take your order and quote freight to deliver, by Australia Post or by the truck load.
