Visit the Weld, get out there!
DATE 24/01/2008
If you looking for something different to do, why not visit the Weld Valley in Tasmania's southern forests?
It is now possible to travel along forestry roads to visit the secluded but dramatic Reuben waterfall on Isabella Creek, look across the spectacular Weld Valley into the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area from the look out at Glovers Bluff or go fishing in the crystal clear waters of the Weld Eddy for a prized trout.
This week, Forestry Tasmania's General Manager (Operations) Kim Creak was joined by more than 70 horse riders, walking enthusiasts and community representatives in unlocking a gate across the main access route into the area.

Access to the area is absolutely free and of course feel free to bring your dog, your horse or your bike.
Why not make a day of it by combining a visit to the Tahune Airwalk and exploring the Weld Valley.
Forestry Tasmania is exploring opportunities with Evans Coaches to provide bus tours of the region.
