Canoeing
You can feel the exercise doing you good as you paddle down the many rivers that run through State forest, not to mention the tranquil setting of smooth flowing waters passing through rainforest covered riverbanks with a new experience and change of scenery around each bend.
Pull over to shore for a picnic lunch and a well-earned break before you continue your journey down river.
If sheer excitement is your thing, taking on the white water may be for you. Certain river sections in State forest lend themselves to great ‘white water’ experiences, with some of the most challenging rapids available to test the mettle of the most experienced canoeist or kayaker.
Water levels vary quickly according to the rainfall in the surrounding hills, so check weather conditions first before you go.
- There are a number of Commercial Rafting Operators that run trips in State forest areas. Contact the nearest TVIN office to find a guide.
- Canoe clubs around the State run organised and informal events for those who want to take the sport that extra step.
