Fishing
Thousands of people travel to Tasmania each year for its world famous trout waters so if you’re looking to catch the “big one” you’re not alone. But where is it to be found?
From salt to fresh water, from bait to flies and lures, State forest rivers, streams and dams cater for them all. Most access is by road, although in some areas a walk through the forest is required to get to just the right place.
You will need a licence, which can be purchased from most tackle shops and general stores. Some waters exclude bait fishing and/ or fishing from a moving boat and are signposted accordingly. The only thing you need is luck.
