Quamby Bluff Track
Quamby Bluff stands out as a prominent feature along the tiers when travelling along the Bass or Lakes Highways.
The walking track starts at a carpark on the Lakes Highway between Golden Valley and Liffey.
The walk starts in farmland, then passes through vegetation ranging from eucalypt forest to rainforest before finally ending up in open high altitude scrub.
A 360 degree panorama is the reward for this 4-5 hour return walk to the top, which is steep and scrambly in places.
Views of the Great Western Tiers across to Devonport and Launceston on a clear day are breathtaking.
