Winter Brook Falls Track
Located at the northern end of the Black Bluff Range, south of Nietta and resonably close to the Leven Canyon, this is more a days outing for the fit and agile.
Much of this 5 hour return walk follows the footsteps of early 1900's timbergetters. This area was cut for the then prized King Billy Pine and wooden tramways were built so logs could be hauled to the sawmill nearby.
The walk goes through swampy areas and a variety of rainforest types before getting into alpine vegetation near the falls.
The falls can be quite spectacular in the winter months.
