Swan Basin Picnic Area

On the road out to Macquarie Heads from Strahan, this picnic area is the ideal place to stop for a barbecue or picnic in a location sheltered from the blustery west winds.

A short walk leads you to a lookout over the harbour and surrounding mountains.

The other walk is a fascinating look at the coastal Teatree that grow so quickly after disturbances of years gone by.
